JAZZ and Blues, the Negro Leagues, and Barbecue were the cornerstones of the African-American culture in Kansas City. Barbecue helped pave the roadway for black-owned businesses and black entrepreneurship.  

Mississippi County Boy raised in Kansas City — BBQ Capital of the World — falls in love with a Louisiana Cajun Cook. This union inspired a seasoning blend where Kansas City smokehouse flavor meets Louisiana heat and soul. What started as homemade blends for family cookouts, fish fries, and Sunday dinners became a tradition shared with friends and family for the past 18 years. Every shake brings together Kansas City Jazz, Southern Comfort, and Louisiana spice for an unforgettable flavor. We’re bringing our family blend to your table.

 

Every Cook adds their signature STYLE by utilizing different types of wood, modifying cooking temperatures, or adding secret bar-b-que rubs, and marinades.  We have refined the techniques taught by Otis Boyd.  When one of the Burnside brothers married a Louisiana Cajun cook it inspired us  to take the Kansas City Jazz and INFUSE it with some Louisiana Spice. We have shared our Seasoning Blends with Friends and Family over the last 18 years.  Now it's time, to share it with Your Family!
